The naming ceremony for Ocean Star took place in Bergen’s inner harbour, during the Tall Ships Races event, which in 2014 was a part of the Norwegian Constitution’s 200th anniversary celebration. The event was followed by more than 100,000 people, enjoying the warm summer weather. Ms Alison Marie Øgreid acted as godmother for the new vessel. After the ceremony, shanty songs echoed from the rigs of the 70 old sailing vessels berthed in the inner harbour, and the ships’ signal horns sounded their tribute.
