The contract, which is the largest ever for the company, totals over 350 million NOK and an extensive training package is included. The vessels will be delivered between 2014 and 2016.

– In addition to having signed our largest contract ever, we are very pleased to see a reinforcement of our share in the market for large-sized boats. The company expects continued growth, and foresees a major increase in the market share of large stand-alone boats, stated Peder R. Myklebust, Chief Executive Officer at Maritime Partner.

The Alusafe 2000 is intended for Sea Rescue and patrol, emergency response and inspection, transport of personnel or other utility services. These vessels are based on a vessel design Maritime Partner used in previous deliveries to the Spanish and Algerian rescue services.

The hulls will be built in Latvia and equipped in Ålesund, Norway. The boats will be 20 meters long and will be equipped with two MTU main engines and Hamilton water jets. Top speed will log at about 30 knots and the boats will provide effective rescue capacity both on coastal areas and in open sea.

– This contract reinforces our position as one of the major suppliers of high-speed rescue and patrol boats. Our in-house program on these boat types will soon include forty different designs, ranging from 5 to 25 meters in size: we have delivered, in total, about 1800 boats worldwide, concluded Mr. Myklebust.
