Kyma AS of Norway has since the early 1970’s supplied the marine industry with accurate and reliable tools for marine performance monitoring of over 6000 vessels and propulsion machinery. The company has 40 employees located in Åsane in Bergen. Since end of 2021 Kyma AS has been part of Danelec.

BASIC FUNCTION
Kyma is experiencing increased activity and demand for Kyma performance monitoring systems. We are searching for Sales Engineer candidates to work in solution sales of our well-established high technology products in an international market.

Our customers are shipyards and ship-owners worldwide, and the successful candidate will have responsibility for customer relations and sales work, in cooperation with local Danelec sales personnel as well as agents.

Typical Job Responsibilities

  • Support Kyma Solution Sales daily tasks
  • Direct contact with customers, local Danelec sales personnel and agents
  • Prepare and analyze technical and commercial inquiry documentation
  • Identify all relevant technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction
  • through the whole sales process
  • Preparation of commercial and technical offer
  • Develop and present quotes based on standard company policy
  • Contract related work including order confirmation
  • Cooperation with our technical groups
  • Support local sales staff in meeting with customers as needed
  • Attendance at marine exhibitions and seminars
  • Develop and enhance existing customer relations, ensuring continued business,
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues quickly and seamlessly,
  • Facilitate timely and cost-effective delivery of product,

QUALIFICATIONS & ESSENTIAL SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Furthermore, it is important that you can work independently in an international business environment and are flexible with regards to traveling.

  • Education preferred technical education to B.Sc. level or higher, or documented relevant experience
  • Experience strong interest in and understanding of technology, engineering and marketing in the maritime industry
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Robust interpersonal skills and team spirit
  • Teamwork - Strong team skills and the proven ability to work with a diverse group of people across a geographically dispersed organization.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with customers, peers, and upper management
  • Business Ethics & Trust – High integrity. Understands the need for ethics in business. Demonstrates proper business conduct. Maintains confidentiality and can be trusted.
  • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals and technical procedures. Ability to write business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, and peers.
  • Language: English & Norwegian
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Visma, Outlook & CRM.
