UPTIME enters the international offshore market
UPTIME International AS entered into several contracts for the delivery of motion compensated access solutions for the offshore market. The contracts are based on innovative technology used to develop new solutions which will increase significantly the operating window for offshore operators.

By developing and delivering safe access solutions UPTIME international AS focuses on increasing the operating window for the offshore market companies. The main products are motion compensated helicopter decks and gangways. Recently, the gangways have created a lot of interest in both offshore oil and gas markets as well as the offshore wind market.
UPTIME international AS has its roots in a long-standing cooperation between its founders. The company was established as a separate entity in 2011 and, despite its young age, has seen a lot of interest in the offshore market. By the end of 2012, the company expects an order backlog of approximately NOK 100 million.
UPTIME international AS has entered into a contract with MAC Offshore (Dubai) and Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding (China) for delivery of a active motion compensated gangway (AMCG) for their new Compact Semi Sub (CSS) maintenance vessel which was designed by STX’s Vancouver office. The vessel will enter into a contract in Brunei as a topside maintenance vessel; in order to ensure the POB access, the vessel has been upgraded with a motion compensated gangway which, during inclement weather, will increase dramatically the ability to connect to offshore installations.
In order to further increase the operating window, a reduced landing load mode has been selected. This makes it possible to stay connected 24/7 with reduced load at the landed end, with the gangway unattended during operation. This ensures that more landing platforms can be used and, thereby, further increases the operating window.
The offshore market is focusing on safe and cost effective operations and MAC Offshore intends to lead through its concepts and through its projects using the newest and latest technology available.Against this background, they have selected UPTIME international AS to be their gangway vendor.
The combination of MAC, the CSS stable platform, coupled to the UPTIME AMCG, will create a very safe and secure environment for the transfer of offshore personnel, reduce downtime and increase productivity.
