A complete offshore functionality module will be integrated in Transas 360 degree bridge simulator installed in Maloy Safety Center in 2007. One of the benefits of this solution is the possibility to switch between DP-systems from different vendors. This will enable the Måløy Safety Center to create customized courses. All DP-systems are fully interfaced with the simulator and comply with the requirements for both basic and advanced DP operator training.

The Måløy Safety Center will provide the following offshore trainings:
• Dynamic positioning
• Anchor Handling
• Deck/Rig cargo crane operations
• Resource management (Bridge, Crew, Rig move projects etc.)
• Offshore wind mill operations

The core part of the supply, the brand-new Transas Anchor Handling simulator features detailed model of deck equipment, accurate model of anchor handling operations, interactive control of anchor-handling operations and flexibility in building scenarios for various anchor handling methods.
The Transas Anchor Handling simulator faithfully simulates interaction of all objects involved into the process. The entire winch system is modeled: common handling winch, special handling winch, secondary winches, spooling devices, tagger winches, capstans. Pin System includes retractable pins, shark jaws and stern rollers.

Various anchor handling methods can be practiced in the simulator: run / retrieve anchor using PCP, install / remove insert wire, run / retrieve anchor using Buoy and pennant wire, retrieve anchor using J-Hook, and install / retrieve a prelaid system.
Specific bridge systems like AH winch control system, triplex shark jaws control system and Dynamic Positioning System are included in the simulator as well.
With Måløy Safety Center competence and strong relations within the North Sea Offshore cluster and Transas Marine experience in simulation development, this partnership will be beneficial for both sides, securing Transas position as a leading marine simulation vendor for offshore related operations.
