M/V «NAMSOS»

– Live Fish Carrier delivered from Havyard

M/V “Namsos” is delivered to her Owners.

The Live Fish Carrier «NAMSOS» was delivered from Havyard Ship Technology to Norsk Fisketransport AS on 21 December 2015 as yard no. 124.

The vessel is of Havyard 587 design, and the shipbuilding contract was entered into in November 2013. The hull was built at Cemre Shipyard in Turkey who advised that this was one of 34 ships delivered to Havyard Group. Following the delivery from the yard the vessel started on a long-term contract with Oppdretternes Miljøservice (OMS).

The Havyard 587 design is a further development of Live Fish Carrier «FS Stormy» which was built at Havyard in 2014. Norsk Fisketransport (NFT) subsequently acquired the company which ordered that vessel. «FS Stormy», now «Havtrans», was a prototype with innovative new cylindrical tanks system. With circular tanks, one can control the currents in the tanks in a completely new way, which means that the water quality is very homogenous throughout the tank. This provides optimal conditions for the salmon both during transport and when carrying out delousing and other work.

M/S «NAMSOS» is built to DNV GL class with notations @1A1, E0. The actual owning company of the vessel is Polarfjord AS, and port of registry is Rørvik. The vessel has the following
